Languages of Contrast explores the idea that complementary colors communicate through their differences. While these colors would seem to oppose each other, one brings greater meaning to the other. Through the use of acrylic paint and soft gradients, this collection challenges the notion that contrast creates division, but instead shows that contrast can be a language of balance, blend, connection, and harmony. Just as every language relies on different words to express meaning, these colors rely on one another to tell a complete story. Together they demonstrate that differences often hold the potential for unity.

COLLECTION OF CONNECTIONS 2026 | SERIES TWO

My work explores human emotion, connection, contrast, and the relationships that shape our experiences. Through simplified figures, geometric forms, bold color, and recurring symbols, I create visual narratives about feelings and experiences that are often difficult to put into words.
I am especially interested in the ways people remain connected—to one another, to memories, to places, and to different versions of themselves. My figures are intentionally simplified and without specific identities, allowing viewers to see themselves and their own experiences within the work.
In my Connections collection, a continuous red thread represents the visible and invisible bonds we carry throughout our lives. At times the thread connects, guides, surrounds, or restricts the figures, reflecting how relationships can provide comfort while also carrying emotional weight. Gold forms act as points of value, memory, possibility, or something just beyond reach.
Ultimately, I want my work to create a space where viewers can recognize pieces of their own experiences and form their own emotional connection to what they see.
